Sides for Episode 2!!

Sides for the character of Jeannie, who looks to be a major player in the show, part of a triangle between Harriet, Matt and herself, are available on both http://http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/SunsetTalk/ and http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/AaronSorkin/files/

Enjoy!

Jeannie should prove to be an interesting recurrer. Not entirely positive her role in the show, she's definitely a writer, but she might be a performer as well... She and Matt seem to have a bit of an early Josh/Donna relationship (except they're already sleeping together), whereas his relationship with Harriet is more one of equals. Not sure who I'm going prefer Matt with.

Also, some new information.

Comments:
Mark Wahlberg is awesome. Fantastic in Boogie Nights and I <3 Huckabees

He was amazing in I <3 Huckabees. I haven't liked him in anything else though.

Hearing who the guests are though, somewhat worries me. I REALLY don't want it to be a gimmick, and I trust our dear Aaron with everything, but I wouldn't trust NBC to watch a pot of water for me.

Please, please, please, let it just be a mention of who the guests are, and not have them appear in the episode.

Yeah, but Sorkin's always written like that. I suppose it's just easier for him to write male characters than female.

I liked Jeannie, but some of her dialogue felt very forced, and awkward for the situation. It'll be interesting to see what changes by the airing, and to see how the actress gives these lines.

I think Jeannie's the Donna to Matt's Josh and Harriet's Mandy. There's no reason to suspect Harriet will be as annoying and grating as Mandy, but then again I'm sure Mandy, in the script, was never intended to be either. But it just seems the same... Harriet's the ex-girlfriend, Jeannie's the doting inferior who knows what Matt's got in his fridge and counts how many reps he did exercising to make sure he's not overdoing it. Obviously we all liked Donna more than Mandy, but... thus far I like Harriet more than Jeannie.

I think both Mary-Louise Parker and Kristin Davis are not very good choices. I mean, both are older than Matthew Perry and I picture Jeannie as much younger than Matt. I mean. If Kristin Davis or Mary-Louise Parker played her she'd be about 10 years older than Sarah Paulson's Harriet!

I don't think she'll be a big name. I think she's only recurring.

Sabrina Lloyd?

I'd be down.

I got the sense that she was a performer first and foremost and just pitched the sketch to the writers, not that she was actually on the team of writers (as in NOT a Tina Fey person).

I could be wrong though. I also wasn't getting the "assistant vibes" that everyone is picking up on. As a performer, she'd be lower than Matt, an executive producer, but they don't have a relationship of people who work directly together. I think she's an actress who has had some flings with a writer. They obviously have a close relationship, but I can't see her to be the type to keep tabs on how Matt is eating. She knows about his prematurely excessive physical therapy because (I'm assuming) she was asked to look for the sheet.

As to whether she'll be a regular, it's hard to say. I suppose it deponds on the direction of the show -- how much it focuses and utilizes the performers. It's a "backstage drama," but will we be seeing behind the scenes of writing and producing more than performing and directing? I have a feeling that she'll show up pretty regularly. Especially if they cast her right. I think we'll be hearing an annoucement about the actress in a week's time...

My favorite line of hers: Idiot Boys!

Bringing back the good stuff...
