Ed Asner as Wilson White??

Although there is no confirmation of this of any kind, it is being rumored that Ed Asner is either being considered for or has been cast as the role of Wilson White, the only significant character left to be cast. Whether there's any truth to this remains to be seen, but it has been mentioned in more than one locale.

Thoughts? Comments? Opinions?

Comments:
I too was hoping for Guillaume. It's weird how many of us pictured him as black.

He looks exactly as I imagined. Cast that man now!

I was hoping Robert Guillaume would play the role, but my other thought was Frank Langella.

I didn't have anyone in mind originally for Wilson, but, I could see him Asner playing him.

We do know, whomever is chosen will be great.

I'm actually not a huge fan of Asner. When I read the pilot, the first name that sprung to mind was Robert Guillaume, like many others. And a bit under the rader, another actor I had in mind was George Coe, who played Senator Howard Stackhouse on The West Wing.

I was wondering though, as far as Guillaume goes, hasn't he had another recent stroke?

i can absolutely 100% promise you that Ed Asner is CONFIRMED as Wilson White...really, i promise.

i can, too. 100%.

I don't think Robert Guillaume will be cast cause I can't imagine him as a bad guy! I believe the character of Wilson White will be pretty much the same as the character of Luther Sachs from Sports Night.

Yeah, we certainly have a wealth of assured anonymous posters, don't we?

As for Wilson=Luther... it would strike me that's a lot more of what Jack would be like.
