IT'S OFFICIAL!

After months of speculation as to who he's playing and whether he's even playing anyone at all, Bradley Whitford as officially signed on as Danny Tripp (formerly "Moore"), the other lead character along with Matthew Perry's Matt Albie for Studio 60! Great to put an end to the speculation for the major stars and also good to know that one of the most popular actors on the West Wing is continuing with Sorkin. Congrats Brad!

Also announced is confirmation of Sarah Paulson as Harriet.

Danny Tripp- Bradley Whitford
Matt Albie- Matthew Perry
Jordan McDeere- Amanda Peet
Harriet Hayes- Sarah Paulson
Simon Stiles- D.L. Hughley
Tom Jeter- Nate Corddry
Jack Rudolph- Steven Weber (possibly no longer)
Cal- Timothy Busfield

Martha Moyer- Unknown
Wes Mendell- Unknown
Wilson White- Unknown
Jerry Jones- Michael Stuhlbarg
Ron Oswald- Evan Handler
Ricky Beck- Carlos Jacott

Happy at Brad's casting? Angry that his last name has gone from the cool sounding "Moore" to the cartoonish sounding "Tripp"? Share!

Hey, where'd you read the pilot for West Wing? I'd be up for that!

Mixed feelings about Brad, but I'll see what happens.

I do, though hate hate HATE the name change! Wow, Danny Tripp sounds lame. Especially for a recovering drug addict--

Dana: ...and three of your intros contain puns.
Casey: Puns? There are PUNS?
Dana: Bad ones.
Casey: There's such a thing as good ones?

--so hopefully there'll be another change before shooting. Oy.

Yeah, the Tripp thing struck me as odd. Puns? That's not supposed to be Sorkin's style!

Hey thanks, I read it through. Wow. Lots of differences. Charlie's in the pilot, Leo's Jacobi, and I liked knowing all of their exact ages (or at least what was, at one time, their exact ages.) 31 seems a *little* young for Sam, 38 a *little* old for Josh. And obviously we know Charlie wasn't 19 but 21. But still pretty good.

Yeah, I agree with Hungry Hippo. Tripp doesn't flow nearly as well as Moore. Another name change would be excellent.

Still, that being said, I'd SO much rather have BW as Danny Tripp, than someone else play Danny Moore.

Agreed on both counts Jaman! Tripp is bugging me, BW is not!

The press release (or however it got out) is WRONG! Though it's listed backwards everywhere, Evan Handler plays "Ricky" (or Richard Tahoe) and Carlos Jacott plays "Ron" in this show.

I'm not sure I like their using the name Danny Tripp. I am bracing for the teasing I'm going to receive this fall. Hey, "Tripp" is not "cartoonish"!
